Pre-taped segments aired with three divas dressed in their Halloween costumes pleading for votes.

Backstage, Chris Jericho told Ted DiBiase, Cody Rhodes, and Manu that if they really want to take it to the next level, they’ll attack Batista just like they attacked C.M. Punk. The threesome said they wouldn’t do his dirty work.

The pace picked up while the big man worked over the heels, but it didn’t last long. Morrison kicked Shad’s knee and went for a cover with his feet on the ropes for leverage. JTG ran over and knocked them off.

Later, with all four men fighting in the ring, the ref pulled JTG out of the mix and ordered him out of the ring. The heels took advantage of the distraction. Miz kicked Shad, who had Morrison up for a slam, and Morrison hit the Moonlight Driver for the win.

More Divas in costume. Tiffany was a naughty nun, Brie Bella was Cleopatra, Natalya was a police officer, and Eve was a Ninja Turtle.

Santino headed back inside the ring, where all three legends took turns beating him up. Honky finished him off with the Shake, Rattle, and Roll.

Taker DDT’d Show for a near finish, as Show wobbled to his feet at the nine count.

Show removed a turnbuckle, but Show shoved him toward it and Show ran into it sternum first. Taker followed up with a clothesline. They both stayed down as the ref counted. Taker got to his feet at seven and Show barely beat the count again.

At 11:20, both men started clearing the Raw and ECW announce tables. Show struck Taker with one of the television monitors and knocked him into the crowd. Taker struggled to get to his feet and Show grabbed a chair. Taker punched the chair into Show’s face and then climbed onto the guardrail. Show reached up and chokeslammed Taker through the announcers’ table. The ref counted slowly and Taker made it to his feet briefly at the 9.99999 count.

Back inside the ring, Show worked over Taker with repeated punches to the kidneys. Taker returned fire and eventually DDT’d Show. Taker sat up as a shot aired of Vickie and Chavo watching the match from the stage. Taker went old school and jumped right into Show’s choke and slam. At 17:00, Taker struggled to get to his feet and Show caught him with a knockout punch. Taker sat up at seven and made it to his feet before the 10 count.

Show grabbed a chair from ringside and slammed it over Taker’s head. Show reached down to pick up Taker, but was caught in the gogoplata submission hold. Show tapped immediately, but there were no submissions so the ref didn’t respond. Taker released the hold. The referee counted as both men were down. Taker struggled to his feet just before the ref counted to 10.

A WrestleMania 25 commercial aired.

Grisham read the results of the voting. Jeff Hardy won with 57 percent of the vote, 38 percent went to the triple threat, and only five percent voted for Kozlov.

7. Triple H pinned Jeff Hardy to retain the WWE Title in 15:35. Ross questioned whether the third time would be the charm for Hardy, who was wearing florescent green and black. Ross noted that Hunter didn’t seem to be surprised by the results of the voting. Tazz compared Hunter to Buddy Rogers and Ric Flair. Ross pointed out that Hardy has had 16 different title reigns, but he has yet to win the WWE Title.

Back and forth action for the first six minutes. Hunter hit a jaw jacker and then Hardy came back with a clothesline. Hardy scored the first nearfall of the match at 7:30. Hunter came back with a spinebuster for a nearfall of his own. At 8:40, Hunter caught Hardy in the crossface. Jeff inched toward the ropes, so Hunter released the hold, dragged him back into the middle of the ring, and reapplied the hold. Hardy eventually rolled over into a pin attempt for another nearfall.

At 11:45, Hardy hit the Whisper in the Wind for a good nearfall. A short time later, Hardy went for the Twist of Fate, but Hunter kicked him and went for the Pedigree, but Jeff slipped out and scored another nearfall. At 13:25, Hardy hit the Twist of Fate for another nearfall. He went up top and hit the Swanton. Hardy whipped off his shirt and went for a second Swanton, but Hunter raised his knees.

Both men stayed on the mat while the referee counted. They got back to their feet at the same time and Hunter went for the Pedigree again, but Hardy slipped out and hit a wheel kick. The action spilled to ringside and Hardy dove onto Hunter. Jeff slid Triple H back inside the ring and went up top again, but Hunter caught him with a punch and then put him in the Pedigree position while he Hardy’s legs were still on the ropes. Hunter dragged Hardy to the center of the ring, hit his finisher, and scored the clean pin.

Cole and Lawler hyped the Survivor Series.

A video showcased Batista and Chris Jericho.

Jericho and Batista made their ring entrances.

On the stage, Grisham introduced backstage shots of Randy Orton, Shawn Michaels, and Steve Austin standing next to each other wearing referee shirts. Austin won the vote with 74 percent, HBK had 22 percent, and Orton had four percent.

In the ring, Jericho sold Austin winning the vote by flashing a look of concern. Austin made his usual entrance and the live crowd chanted his name after his entrance music stopped playing.

8. Batista pinned Chris Jericho to win the World Hvt. Championship with Steve Austin as the special referee in 17:05. Jericho took a spinebuster and then headed toward the back. Austin grabbed the mic and said he knows Jericho thinks he’ll retain the title if he gets counted out or DQ’d. Austin announced that the title would change hands if Jericho is counted out or DQ’d.

Jericho raced back to the ring to beat Austin’s regular speed count. Jericho clipped Batista’s knee and then spent the next several minutes working it over. Jericho locked Batista in a half crab and punched the bad knee repeatedly. Batista reached the ropes at 10:00 and Austin made Jericho break the hold.

At 11:30, Jericho jumped off the top rope and right into a clothesline from Batista, who went for a cover. Austin counted at normal speed and Jericho kicked out at two-and-a-half. At 12:45, Batista hit a shoulder block off the top rope for another nearfall.

At 14:00, Batista ran toward Jericho, who moved out of the way, causing Batista to accidentally shoulder block Austin, who fell to ringside. Jericho hit the Codebreaker on the Batista and went for a cover. With Austin still down, HBK ran out and then made the world’s slowest count. JBL ran out, pulled HBK out of the ring, and hit him with the Clothesline from Hell.

Randy Orton ran out and hit Austin from behind. Jericho grabbed the title belt and hit Batista with it, but Batista kicked out when Orton made the count. Austin recovered and hit the Stunner on Orton to clear him from the ring. Jericho bickered with Austin, who tried to Stunner him, but Jericho pushed off. Batista recovered and hit the spinebuster on Jericho and then followed up with the Batista Bomb for the win.

Batista celebrated and posed with the title. He held up four fingers to signify that he’s a four-time champion. Austin handed Batista a beer and they slammed their cans together. Cole thanked viewers for ordering Cyber Sunday to close the show.

WWE News: Is Mickie The Most Popular Diva In WWE?, Divas vs. Raw Tonight, Lilian Garcia

October 27, 2008

– At last night’s Cyber Sunday pay-per-view, Mickie James won the Divas Halloween costume contest after being voted the winner by the fans. James dressed up as Lara Croft from the Tomb Raider video game series. James won the contest last year as well, dressing up as a Native American, so she’s won two years in a row. And quite like last year, Mickie James is currently on the back burner in the storylines in favor of other heavily pushed WWE Divas. Since losing the WWE Women’s Championship at SummerSlam, which coincided with the return of Candice Michelle, James has done little of note and is frequently left off of Raw. Considering that James’ costume wasn’t nearly as revealing or sexy as several of the other Divas such as Candice Michelle, Kelly Kelly, Maria, or Michelle McCool, and that she’s won it two years in a row, this should be a good indication that James is the most popular female on the WWE roster. As if that isn’t enough, James won despite being the last Diva of sixteen Divas to display her costume, and she only had approximately 30 minutes to sway viewers as the Undertaker vs. Big Show match was sandwiched in between the two segments. Some of the other Divas such as Candice Michelle and Michelle McCool were shown early during the broadcast and had a huge head start on her as a result. Despite their huge head start - and huge pushes on television - they still could not defeat the often-left-off-of-Raw Mickie James.

– MyNetworkTV will be airing a replay of the episode of Magic’s Biggest Secrets featuring WWE Divas Maria Kanellis and Eve Torres. The one-hour show goes head-to-head with tonight’s Raw at 9:00 p.m.

– According to the MySpace page of Raw ring announcer Lilian Garcia (myspace.com/liliangarcia), she is scheduled to do an autograph signing at Sideline Sports Cards located at 128 Dolson Avenue, Middletown, New York on Sunday, November 16th from 12:00 to 2:00 p.m.

WWE News: Top Star Returning Soon, Win Tickets To WrestleMania, Shaquille O’Neal At Cyber Sunday

October 27, 2008

– It was announced in a commercial during tonight’s Cyber Sunday pay-per-view that John Cena would be returning to WWE at next month’s Survivor Series pay-per-view. The pay-per-view will be held in Cena’s hometown of Boston, Massachusetts on Sunday, November 23. Cena is presently featured on the promotional poster for Survivor Series.

– Shaquille O’Neal of the Phoenix Suns was in attendance at tonight’s Cyber Sunday pay-per-view at the US Airways Center in Phoenix, Arizona. Santino Marella mentioned him during his promo talking about washed athletes up coming to Phoenix to fade away and Shaq was shown on camera to a big pop.

– For people in the Maryland/Washington D.C. area, the local MyNetworkTV affiliate, My20 WDCA, is holding a contest for fans to win tickets to next year’s WrestleMania. You have to tune into SmackDown for the next three weeks for a secret phrase. For more information on the contest, visit WDCA.com.

THE DAY ECW DIED

October 22, 2008

It is almost bitter sweet that the night the WWE brought back ECW to begin it’s second rain was in fact the night that ECW died. The only respect I can shine towards the WWE is that they did send ECW out with guns blazing.

At this moment the show had come to its main event for the evening with the match up being RVD the home grown champion of ECW verses John Cena the poster boy for the WWE at our present day and age. IN the beginning one can only be astonished by the crowd. This crowd was in fact the last true ECW crowd to be established under one roof, everyone was wearing their ECW t-shirts and hats. Signs saying” Anti-Cena” and “If Cena wins we riot” were posted throughout the masses.

When RVD entered an eruption occurred as the fans showed whose side they were on, however, one thing I was not expecting was the reaction John Cena received. Now obviously in this case Cena was the heel, at least to the crowd, but what occurred after John Cena entered the ring blew me away.

As in many cases a wrestler will take off his attire, in this case a t-shirt, and toss it into the crowd as a keep sake for one lucky fan. But the pro-ECW fans wanted no part in anything Cena had to offer and tossed the shirt back into the ring. A shocked John Cena went to the opposite end of the arena and tossed it to another fan, again it was tossed back. Every time this happened the crowd fed off its hate for Cena and continued to toss back the shirt. That is a once in a lifetime thing to see, and to cap it all off RVD simply walks to Cena who is holding his returned shirt and informs him of who he is “RVD”.

If you thought that was enough stay tuned because “fuck you Cena” chants and “CENA SWALLOWS” chants would occur in the opening moments of the match, toilet paper would be tossed around and many boo’s would occur on any offense Cena had.

Now as fake as you want to say pro wrestling is I will argue that by agreeing it is fake but suggesting everything is fake in the same regard, a movie it fake because it is scripted and shot but once it is put together there is an aura that one cannot ever accuse of being fake. When Cena and RVD go toe to toe and being to punch one another it is obviously scripted, however, what gives this moment life is that the fans are commanding the actions by booing Cena and cheering RVD, the fans control how long this will go and how much delay and build up are involved in every blow.

Additionally to those accusing wrestling of being fake. Like any sports star they can bring their A-game when they wish. Cena sling shooting RVD into a steel chair would normally be blocked with RVD putting his hands up and selling the move as if he took it to the face, HOWEVER, in the moment of RVD wrestling like a CHAMPION he eats that chair face first.

I highly suggest any true fan of wrestling to watch this match-up as it is a historical moment in pro wrestling history. I only add that when you watch it take into consideration the amount of heat Cena had as a heel and only pray that when Cena returns this year he isn’t the repetitive face but a newly defined heel.

WWE Raw 10/6/08
Live from Seattle, WA

The opening video aired and fireworks lit up the stage. Michael Cole and Jerry Lawler welcomed us back to the WWE Universe and to the show. Chris Jericho came out to the ring alone in a suit with the title over his right shoulder. His mouth and lips were severely bruised.

Jericho told those people who did not know that Mike Adamle was away at a meeting with Shane and Stephanie McMahon and that he left Jericho in charge. Jericho said he would run the show to the best of his abilities. Jericho said Michaels did succeed at permanently disfiguring him. He then gave the camera a long shot at the half tooth that was knocked out by Michaels.

Jericho said the irony was in the fact that thinking about Michaels made him smile. Jericho said he was done with Michaels and he had nothing left to prove to anyone. He said he was passing Michaels off to someone else and that someone else was Lance Cade. Jericho made Cade vs. Michaels in an anything goes match for tonight’s show.

Batista’s music hit and he strolled out to the ring in a wife beater and jeans. Batista congratulated Jericho and told him to pick a number. Jericho wondered what he meant. Batista wanted to know the number of days before they had their world championship match. He suggested tonight. Jericho told Batista to be careful what he wishes for because he just might get it.

Jericho said that while Batista called himself an animal, Jericho was an animal. Jericho said he scratches and claws his way to victory. He said he would make sure the name Batista becomes synonymous with failure. Jericho told Batista to get out of his face and out of his ring. Batista told Jericho he would have to defend the title against him and hit a spinebuster on him, leaving him lying in the middle of the ring.

Cole plugged tonight’s tag team match pitting Henry and Kane against Mysterio and Hardy.

-commercial-

During the break, an incensed Jericho said he could not strip Batista of being the number one contender, but he could make him put it on the line again. He made Batista vs. JBL with the winner becoming the number one contender. He then named himself as the special guest referee.

William Regal and Layla were shown at ringside.

1. Santino Marella and Beth Phoenix defeated Jamie Noble and Mickie James in 1:43. Santino took the microphone and said he has been criticized for being too Italian. In an effort to be more American, he adopted a new favorite NBA team. He removed his shirt to reveal an Oklahoma City Thunder shirt, causing the Seattle fans to boo him loudly. He then said, “The NBA; it’s terrific!”

After a fast paced ninety seconds, Santino rolled up Jamie for the win. After the match, Jamie went after Santino, who was celebrating with Beth Phoenix. Regal went after Noble and the two had to be pulled apart.

Backstage, Shawn Michaels asked Todd Grisham what he was supposed to do. In a solid, emotional promo, Michaels said he still had plenty of gas left in his tank.

-commercial-

2. Ted Dibiase (with Manu and Cody Rhodes) defeated Kofi Kingston (with CM Punk) in 2:43. Punk came out after everyone had already made their entrances. Kofi began the match with impressive high flying offense. Rhodes distracted Kofi and was attacked by Punk, however, Dibiase was able to hit the Million Dollar Dream into a Russian leg sweep for the win.

King plugged tonight’s main event of JBL vs. Batista with Jericho as the special guest referee.

-commercial-

Backstage, Jericho was talking to who we thought was JBL. He said there was no sense in pretending they were friends and that Batista being the number one contender was bad for both of them. The camera pulled back to reveal Randy Orton. Orton asked Jericho what he wanted from him. Jericho said he was going to put Orton to work.

Cole and King talked about John Cena. Cole introduced a video package focusing on Cena and his impending return. Batista and referee Mike Chioda put over Cena in the video. Footage was shown of their SummerSlam match and Cena getting hurt. Extensive footage was shown of Cena’s doctor explaining the injury and the process of the surgery.

Kane, Mark Henry, and Tony Atlas walked through the backstage area. Dolph Ziggler tried to introduce himself, but he thought better of it. He finished his intro to Atlas trailing behind, but Atlas snubbed him.

-commercial-

3. Kane and Mark Henry (with Tony Atlas) defeated Matt Hardy and Rey Mysterio in 10:31. Hardy and Mysterio doubled up for Poetry in Motion but Henry caught Mysterio. Hardy then took out Henry’s leg. Henry rolled out of the ring and the babyfaces disposed of Kane as well.

-commercial-

Kane had the advantage on Hardy coming back from the break. Mysterio and Hardy worked over Henry’s knee during the break. Mysterio hit a lot of striking offense on Henry while Henry was grounded. He was able to overpower Mysterio after interference by Kane and the two heels gained the overwhelming advantage.

Once all hell broke loose, Mysterio hit the 619 on Kane. Hardy went to the top rope as Mysterio dove at Henry. Henry threw Mysterio at the top rope, causing Hardy to fall into Kane, who hit a chokeslam for the win.

It was announced that Triple H will defend the WWE Championship against The Big Show on Smackdown.

-commercial-

WWE 24/7 featured footage from Wrestlemania XIV in Boston. The focus was on Kane delivering of a tombstone piledriver on Pete Rose.

4. Shawn Michaels defeated Lance Cade in a no disqualification match in 2:56. Both men went right at each other. Cade yelled “I hate you” at Michaels while delivering clubbing right hands. Cade quickly set up a table on the floor and hit Michaels with a spinebuster through it. Cade threw Michaels back into the ring and followed with a chair.

Michaels intercepted the chair and hit Cade with it similar to the way Steve Austin attacked The Rock at Wrestlemania X-Seven. Like Austin, Michaels then scored the pinfall.

Michaels grabbed the chair and hit Cade many more times. He had a hard ass look on his face as he stared down Cade before leaving the ring.

The main event was plugged. A commercial aired for the Hell in a Cell DVD set.

-commercial-

Did you know? WWE Smackdown was the highest rated show in the history of My Network TV. Cole plugged Triple H vs. Big Show for the WWE Championship this Friday.

Jerry Lawler announced that the fans can choose Santino Marella’s opponent for the Intercontinental Championship at Cyber Sunday. The choices are Roddy Piper, Goldust, or The Honky Tonk Man.

Lillian Garcia was about to announce the next match but The Great Khali and Ranjin Singh came out. Khali cut a promo on Johnny Knoxville. They showed the footage of the interview where Knoxville asked Khali how big his penis was. Khali got pissed and the interview abruptly ended.

Khali invited Knoxville to Raw next week and was going to prove he was a fun guy. Khali then hosted the Kiss Cam. The last shot was of Lillian Garcia. Khali brought her into the middle of the ring and planted a huge kiss on her. Singh followed that up with , “The Great Khali says he’ll call you.” Lillian only looked moderately appalled.

-commercial-

Miz and Morrison joined the announce team. King asked if they were there to do commentary. Miz said that is what they do best. Morrison was wearing Scott Steiner like bling on his abs. In the ring, Jillian sang Kurt Cobain’s Smells Like Teen Spirit. Cryme Tyme came out after Kelly. They joined the announce team too and they talked smack to each other over the entire match.

5. Kelly Kelly defeated Jillian in 3:42. Kelly rolled up Jillian for the win and celebrated with Cryme Tyme while holding her jaw.

Batista was shown stretching backstage.

-commercial-

More footage aired of John Cena. Shawn Michaels, Triple H, Maria, Candice Michelle, The Miz, and Mickie James were added to the list of those putting him over. Cena came to the arena hours after his neck surgery. H said this was who he was and he was not trying to create an image for himself.

Jericho made his entrance wearing a referee shirt. JBL came out next. Jericho started making new stipulations. William Regal was the special time keeper. Randy Orton was announced as the special guest commentator.

-commercial-

6. Batista defeated JBL with Chris Jericho as the special guest referee to become the number one contender for the World Heavyweight Championship in 7:32. Orton told King and Cole that he had no idea why he was out there but it did not matter because he would be the champion once he returned from injury.

Batista covered JBL early and Jericho slowly counted to one. Batista worked extensively on the left leg of JBL. He applied the figure four leg lock. Jericho broke the hold after JBL touched the ropes. JBL hit a neckbreaker for a fast two count.

Batista hit a suplex and covered JBL, but Jericho did not count the pinfall. He left the ring and the competitors soon followed. Jericho pretended to yell at JBL but Regal used the distraction to attack Batista. Jericho counted another fast two and JBL applied a full nelson. He then locked in a sleeper. Batista hit a back suplex to break the hold.

Jericho rooted JBL on. After Jericho allowed Regal to interfere, Mike Adamle reappeared and sent Mike Chioda down to referee the match. Batista dodged a Closeline from Hell attempt and hit the Batista Bomb for the win.

Adamle took the microphone. He said it was ironic that Jericho named himself the special referee tonight because he had the same idea. Shane and Stephanie told him to shake things up. He made a title match at Cyber Sunday between Chris Jericho and Batista with the fans naming the special referee. The choices were Randy Orton, Shawn Michaels, and Stone Cold Steve Austin.

End of show…

Your winner and still ECW champion, Matt Hardy

Backstage, Eve Torres interviewed WWE champ Triple H and Jeff Hardy. HHH was texting on his phone, voting in the poll over who would win their match. Eve asked Hardy if he was ready for his own championship moment tonight. HHH mocked him by saying he was rooting for Hardy tonight. Hardy told him not to worry about texting but about what’s in front of his face. HHH said he was a big fan of Hardy and told him he had all the talent in the world. Triple H said he wanted to see Hardy put it all together and be all he can be, so that when he beats Hardy, he knows that he beat the absolute best. Hardy told HHH to take pride in his performance tonight, because he’ll take pride in taking HHH’s belt.

WWE Women’s champ Beth Phoenix (with Santino Marella) vs. Candice Michelle

The announcers noted that Marella must have somehow talked Phoenix in allowing him to come to ringside after she told him on Raw she needed to concentrate on her winning streak. Candice dropkicked Phoenix and promptly missed a legdrop. Ouch. That was grody. Michelle scored several near falls early. Michelle his an enziguiri, and shockingly, Michael Cole called the move. Michelle worked over Phoenix in the corner but was caught by Phoenix and driven backwards into the corner, while upside down.

Phoenix kicked Michelle in the same shoulder she injured. Michelle fought back but was run into the corner by Beth, so her strategy is to go after the bad shoulder. Phoenix followed up with a form of the cross arm breaker. Michelle was really vocal and making decent facials while selling. She fought her way to her feet trying to kick Phoenix off but was forced back down. Candice tried to surprise her with a series of forearms then hit a jawbreaker. *SPOILERS* WWE Smackdown (10/3) Taping Results from Green Bay

October 1, 2008

Attendance-wise, it was not completely filled up. I would say it was a slightly smaller crowd than the house show back in March, but still a decent sized crowd. The new HD stage made its debut in the Resch Center and it made the arena look small. Packers Pro Bowl wide receiver Donald Driver attended the show with his son.

The show started off airing the Wrestlemania 24 highlight video that got the crowd pumped up. Cena got booed in the video. Tons of Woo chants for Flair.

Tony Chimel was out next and welcomed us to the show.

Dark Match

1. Jimmy Yang defeated Bam Neely. Not bad for a little dark match. Yang was over with the crowd. He hit a couple of nice maneuvers for nearfalls and then finished him off with a backflip.

Tony told us to get excited and air the shot for ECW before the show went on the air. Everyone went crazy and held up their signs. One funny sign I saw was, “Hey, Jeff, how was the flight?”

ECW Taping Notes

Todd Grisham and Matt Striker were both introduced to cheers actually. Teddy Long accompanied by Tiffany made their way out to the ring before the actual taping started. The opening video and the ECW video showed on the big screen followed by a display of pryo, and then you guys watched a boring edition of ECW that the live crowd didn’t enjoy other than the six-man main event.

They made a ring change fairly quickly which the refs did most of the work for. They showed a very cool WWE video that went the length of the ring change. They showed the trips to Iraq, WrestleMania, celebrity interviews, Make-a-Wish videos, and everything else. Jay Leno clips from WCW were included, which is weird, but a really cool video from start to finish capping WWE in the media and life.

They shot out T-shirts, introduced Jim Ross and Tazz, and the Smackdown All-Star show was finally underway.

WWE Smackdown Taping

The WWE video and Smackdown video showed and a huge display of pyro went off. Then the show started with a huge match the fans loved.

1. Jeff Hardy and Rey Mysteiro and Batista and Finlay (w/Hornswoggle) beat MVP and JBL and The Kane and The Brian Kendrick (w/Ezekiel Jackson). It’s amazing how they change the pyro and blow up MVP’s entrance so fast. Jeff Hardy got his huge pop. Tons of fans around for him. Hornswoggle is from the Wisconsin area so he got a huge pop as well.

A very good match that included some comedy spots with Hornswoggle and Kendrick. All eight men had a good finish at the end and Jeff Hardy got the pin after a Swanton. After the match all the faces, especially Jeff Hardy and Batista, went out of their way to make the fans happy. Jeff Hardy gave hugs to women wearing his t-shirts and a couple of them just about passed out.

Big Show was shown angrily walking backstage.

Mike Adamle, Tiffany, and Teddy Long were talking about the All-Star kickoff. Big Show came in and kicked them all out of “his” office. Chavo walked in and Big Show said he is in charge tonight and said Chavo was going to wrestle.

Santino cut a promo in the ring with Beth Phoenix that featured the Honk-A-Meter. Then in a hilarious interview that won’t air on TV, Santino cut a promo on Brett Favre and Aaron Rodgers. The crowd cheered Favre’s name and booed Rodgers mostly, by the way.

A Shelton Benjamin promo showed on the big screen.

2. Santino Marella (w/Beth Phoenix) defeated Shelton Benjamin. R-Truth rapped through the crowd and cost Benjamin the match. Short match.

They showed John Cena and WrestleMania videos again. Cena was cheered this time though. Fans were hoping this would lead to an appearance from him.

Big Show came to the ring and said Vickie was about to see something she would like from her bed resting and healing up.

3. Mark Henry (w/Tony Atlas) and Great Khali (w/Runjin Singh) defeated Chavo Guerrero in a handicap match. After the match, Big Show cut a promo on Undertaker, came out from under the ring or somewhere. Big Show didn’t appear to be scared. Undertaker is awesome live and the crowd loved it.

Carlito and Primo cut a promo and said they hope it was okay that they changed their match to a six-man tag. Carlito works well with his brother.

4. C.M. Punk and Carlito and Primo defeated Cody Rhodes and Ted DiBiase and Manu in a six-man tag. Not a real good match, crowd wasn’t as into Punk as I thought they would be.

Jesse and Festus appeared and spoke about the move to My Network. The Lumberjills came out.

5. Beth Phoenix beat Michelle McCool in a Diva Lumberjill match. They actually had a good match, but I don’t think that’s where the fans concentration was. Kelly is amazing, it’s not like any of the other Divas are slouches either.

6. Triple H defeated Matt Hardy and Chris Jericho in a Triple Threat match. Really good match, all worked well together. Triple H beat Matt Hardy at the end, but I think Matt looked like a main eventer here.

After the match, Jericho attacked both men and pulled out a ladder. Jeff Hardy came out to make the save and then took out Triple H. Vladimir Kozlov appeared and laid them both out to apparently end Smackdown.

After the taping, Jeff Hardy and Triple H spent time at ringside and went around the audience. Triple H stayed out for a long time just like he did at the March house show, and really ended the show on a positive note for fans. Triple H is definitely over.
