CM PUNK FOREVER

CM Punk Fired

Tonight’s RAW ended with CM Punk delivering one of the best promo’s in the last decade. From the moment he assumed his trademark cross legged sit position at the top of the ramp Punk had the entire arena and every very captivated. One of the pivotal moment’s where the 4th wall is not just removed but the script is tossed out the window. Punk’s powerful speech ended with Punk’s comments towards Vince McMahon

“I’d like to think that maybe this company would be better after Vince McMahon’s dead but the fact is it’s gonna get taken over by his idiotic daughter and his dufus son in law and the rest of his stupid family!”

With RAW Roulette coming off as a heavily commercialized RAW Punk’s comments vilified the entire companies with words that I am sure several wrestlers past, present and future idealize him for saying.

“I am the best on this microphone! In that ring! Even in commentary, no one can touch me!“
During Punk’s one sided slander speech the camera only grasped one image of Cena during the six and a half minute promo. “But the fact that Dwayne is in the main-event at WrestleMania next year makes me sick”

One would have begun to question the Stone Cold t-shirt he came to the ring with, a true homage to Austin and a feud we may never see happen

Punk’s statement to Cena “I hate this idea that you’re the best, because you’re not, I’m the best, I’m the best in the world.”
“I am the best wrestler in the world!”
“You’re as good as kissing Vince McMahon’s ass as Hulk Hogan was. I dunno if you’re as good as Dwayne he’s a pretty good ass kisser.”

People who have kissed Vince McMahon’s ass including: Hogan, Cena and The Rock.
He then went on to not only criticize the Vince McMahon character but also suggested McMahon’s, however, McMahon surrounding himself with “glad handing, non-seneschal, douche bag yes men”
Before Punk was cut off he wanted to tell us a “personal story about Vince Mcmahon” involving the bully campaign. Being one of the most underutilized wrestler’s in the company one can only image the stories he was going to share with the entire “WWE Universe” I suppose now we will have to wait for the shoot interviews to come….God bless you CM Punk

THE DAY ECW DIED

October 22, 2008 by · Leave a Comment

It is almost bitter sweet that the night the WWE brought back ECW to begin it’s second rain was in fact the night that ECW died. The only respect I can shine towards the WWE is that they did send ECW out with guns blazing.

At this moment the show had come to its main event for the evening with the match up being RVD the home grown champion of ECW verses John Cena the poster boy for the WWE at our present day and age. IN the beginning one can only be astonished by the crowd. This crowd was in fact the last true ECW crowd to be established under one roof, everyone was wearing their ECW t-shirts and hats. Signs saying” Anti-Cena” and “If Cena wins we riot” were posted throughout the masses.

When RVD entered an eruption occurred as the fans showed whose side they were on, however, one thing I was not expecting was the reaction John Cena received. Now obviously in this case Cena was the heel, at least to the crowd, but what occurred after John Cena entered the ring blew me away.

As in many cases a wrestler will take off his attire, in this case a t-shirt, and toss it into the crowd as a keep sake for one lucky fan. But the pro-ECW fans wanted no part in anything Cena had to offer and tossed the shirt back into the ring. A shocked John Cena went to the opposite end of the arena and tossed it to another fan, again it was tossed back. Every time this happened the crowd fed off its hate for Cena and continued to toss back the shirt. That is a once in a lifetime thing to see, and to cap it all off RVD simply walks to Cena who is holding his returned shirt and informs him of who he is “RVD”.

If you thought that was enough stay tuned because “fuck you Cena” chants and “CENA SWALLOWS” chants would occur in the opening moments of the match, toilet paper would be tossed around and many boo’s would occur on any offense Cena had.

Now as fake as you want to say pro wrestling is I will argue that by agreeing it is fake but suggesting everything is fake in the same regard, a movie it fake because it is scripted and shot but once it is put together there is an aura that one cannot ever accuse of being fake. When Cena and RVD go toe to toe and being to punch one another it is obviously scripted, however, what gives this moment life is that the fans are commanding the actions by booing Cena and cheering RVD, the fans control how long this will go and how much delay and build up are involved in every blow.

Additionally to those accusing wrestling of being fake. Like any sports star they can bring their A-game when they wish. Cena sling shooting RVD into a steel chair would normally be blocked with RVD putting his hands up and selling the move as if he took it to the face, HOWEVER, in the moment of RVD wrestling like a CHAMPION he eats that chair face first.

I highly suggest any true fan of wrestling to watch this match-up as it is a historical moment in pro wrestling history. I only add that when you watch it take into consideration the amount of heat Cena had as a heel and only pray that when Cena returns this year he isn’t the repetitive face but a newly defined heel.

Cena’s HEEL return

September 14, 2008 by · Leave a Comment

A possible storyline upon Cena’s return is that he is turning heel. Having been sidelined by Batista it makes sense to feud the two leading up to Wrestlemania 25 for Cena/Batista 2. Cena having been put on the self last year around the same time many are wondering if Cena’s babyface style can stick as the crowds are 50/50 every venue the WWE travels to, a heel turn isn’t a primary focus for Cena but is a largley takled about possibility.

WWE News: More WWE Call-ups In The Works, Killings’ New WWE Name, Hector Speaks On Vickie, Mickie James On Cena

July 22, 2008 by · Leave a Comment

The Miami Herald has an interview with Hector Guerrero talking about working in TNA with LAX, the Guerrero family, Vickie Guerrero, and more. The article notes that Vickie doesn’t speak to Hector nor members of the Guerrero family anymore. “Vickie Guerrero is not Vickie Guerrero anymore,” Hector said. “She is Vickie Lara. Till death do us part. She was in love with Eddy and he with her. She went into seclusion, and I can respect that.” He added, “We know why she kept the family name, but she’s not reached out to us. She is loved by us, and we wish her the best. We just wish should we love us back and return the gesture of communication.” {Article Link}

– WWE Women’s Champion Mickie James has posted her first blog on her WWE Fan Nation account. She answers a few frequently asked questions regarding Trish Stratus and John Cena. On Trish she said, “It was and honor to start in a major program with Trish Stratus. We are still wonderful friends and she taught me a lot about the world of WWE.” Regarding Cena, she said, “Now lastly many of you all want to now what exactly is going on between John and myself. Like I said before a true lady doesn’t kiss and tell. But what I will tell you is this. The truth is we have really become great friends. He is truly an amazing man. Like no one I have ever known and I am grateful to have him in my life. When you step into this crazy world you soon find that the genuine people are few and far between. He is Real… I adore him for that…” She also notes that she doesn’t have a MySpace page nor a Facebook page, as there are apparently a lot of people pretending to be her on those sites. Mickie also wants people to keep things clean on her page. “I think its important that we all remember that there are many little eyes and ears that see hear and imitate everything we do. We must all be aware of that and keep it in mind. You are free to express yourself however you want but just please keep your language and remarks clean on the board. Also I wanted to reserve my email for serious questions in order to restart the ASK MICKIE advice column. So if your just writing to say hi than just do so on the board. It just makes it easier for me… Thank you..” {Mickie’s First Blog}

– WWEShop.com’s currently holding a contest for fans to win some prizes such as a laptop computer, a Playstation 3 package, the SummerSlam Anthology set, a $250 WWE Shop gift certificate, and more. In the sign-up form, they ask you to choose your favorite WWE Superstar. It’s a drop down list featuring every Superstar on the roster, including the names of two wrestlers that have yet to debut on television. When Ron Killings makes his television debut, his name will apparently be “R-Truth.” That name is listed in the drop down menu. The menu also lists a wrestler that has yet to even work a house show or dark match. The drop down menu lists a wrestler by the name of Tyrone Evans, who is a developmental wrestler in Florida Championship Wrestling. WWE signed Evans to a contract earlier in the year. They’re also listing the latest additions to the main roster including Brian Kendrick’s bodyguard Ezekiel, Braden Walker, Ricky Ortiz, and Theodore Long’s assistant Tiffany. The list also features Drew McIntyre & James Curtis, who aren’t apart of the main roster, and Ashley Massaro, who recently parted ways with WWE. Both Highlanders are also listed twice by accident. WWE News: When You Can Catch The Supplemental Draft, Jim Ross Apologizes, Cole Comments

June 25, 2008 by · Leave a Comment

– The administrator of the WWE Fan Nation site announced that the WWE Supplemental Draft will be taking place tomorrow at noon on WWE.com. The WWE Fan Nation plans on holding a live blog with Howard Finkel and other WWE.com editors to give their expert analysis of the draft picks live as they happen. No other details have been revealed about the draft. They wrote: “The amount of picks and the format of the Supplemental Draft are still unknown, but we’ll be holding a Live Blog here on WWE Fan Nation tomorrow as all the action unfolds.” Last year’s Supplemental Draft featured 13 draft picks, so you can probably expect the roughly same amount tomorrow. And just a few moments ago, WWE put up an announcement on the front page of the site regarding the draft. For their preview, click here.

– Jim Ross has posted a follow-up blog on his website apologizing for his comments in his first blog earlier today. Ross wrote: “Changes in one’s life take some adjusting to especially at my stage of the game. This week I received an unexpected change in my professional address. Within hours of writing an emotional blog, I am positively moving on. I am going to do all I can to make Smackdown the best program the WWE produces.” He also added: “The abruptness of the “trade” shocked me. I most likely responded in a non professional way in the eyes of some fans. That’s their prerogative and each has the right to their opinion, As do I. Not to be cliche, but wrestling has been great to my family and me. I owe it to the business to “man up” and to kick ass on Smackdown. That’s my plan. My emotions are what they are and I will not apologize for my candor or honesty. My feathers were ruffled…poor me. I still bring bona fide passion to every broadcast and fully expect to deliver come show time.” Ross closes his post by saying: “For those of you that were offended by my earlier rant I apologize. For those that think “old J.R.” can’t get the job done, I suggest you sit back and watch. I wish my good pal The King and Michael Cole great success but my professional priority is to help Smackdown kick ass. In more ways than one, “the game is on.” You can read the blog in its entirety at this link.

– WWE.com posted an after-Raw video interview of Michael Cole and Jim Ross talking about the announcer swap. Even WWE.com is acknowledging Ross’ unhappiness regarding the move. They wrote: “Michael Cole and J.R. talk about swapping announce teams with the Draft – a move that made Ross none too happy.” You can see what they have to say at this link.
