WWE RAW
September 29, 2008
Minneapolis, MN

The opening pyro hit and we’re ready to go. Michael Cole & Jerry Lawler welcomed us to the show and we’re ready to go. They put over the network television debut of Wrestlemania XXIV on MyNetwork TV.

Batista’s music hit and he came out to the ring.

Batista v. Santino Marella

Santino popped up on the ring and put over the honk-o-meter for us all to view. He then whipped out a brain barometer. He said the avg. human has six trillion brain cells. Santino has 10 trillion. Batista on the other hand, only has 12. Batista’s laughing because honestly, this is pretty hilarious. He’s leaving Batista in worse shape than the US economy.

Batista clocked Santino with a huge lariat before nailing him with multiple shoulder thrusts in the corner. He followed it up with a big whip followed by a clothesline before nailing a spine buster. One big Batista Bomb later, that’s all she wrote.

Winner: Batista via pin fall

After the match, Beth got on the ring apron and was talking trash to Batista. As he smiled at her, JBL showed up from behind and leveled Batista with a clothesline from hell. Batista’s selling it like he’s a dead deer. Twitch and all.

Todd Grisham is in the back with Shawn Michaels. He said HBK would team with a mystery partner. HBK said ten years ago when he trained Cade he knew he was good but what happened last week wouldn’t ever happen again. HBK put over the ladder match at No Mercy before Grisham asked him who his partner would be. HBK said it wouldn’t be Batista… he teased it being Hogan and Austin and even Bret Hart. He said he needed to find a partner who actually liked him.

JTG v. The Miz

JTG and Miz traded go behinds before Miz backed JTG up into the corner. JTG reversed a whip before being dropped onto the apron. After a flip for t he heck of it, JTG hit a shoulder block and a rolling snap mare for a one count.

JTG grabbed a side headlock and hit a diving upper cut before getting hung up on the top rope. Miz slammed him into the corner before hitting his running knee. Miz stomped away on JTG on the ground and dropped a leg drop across the throat for a two count.

Miz slapped on a cravat. JTG fought out and caught a roll up but Miz kicked out and went back on the advantage with a lariat. We’re back in the cravat before JTG blocked a lariat and a kick before JTG hit a springboard leg drop. JTG hit a wheel kick before hitting a second rope senton for a two count.

He gathered Miz before eating a punch to the grill. JTG dodged an upper cut and flat backed Miz with a punch. He was distracted by the shenanigans from Shaad and Morrison on the outside just long enough for Miz to hit the kick, knee, neck breaker ‘reality check’ combo for the win.

Winner: The Miz via pin fall

Jamie Noble is approaching Jillian about something. She sang, then Dolph Ziggler showed up. He’s got a mean hand shake.

King William Regal and Leyla are watching from a throne on the stage.

Paul Burchill & Katie Lea v. Jamie Noble & Mickie James

Burchill and Noble started things off. Burchill put a big beat down on Noble with punches and knees. Noble fought back briefly only to be nailed into the corner. Katie Lea looked for the cover but only got a two count. Katie tagged Noble with some kicks on the ground until Noble pushed her into Mickie. Mickie tags in and puts a few forearms in her face before hitting a snap mare.

Burchill tripped up Mickie allowing Katie to get back in the match. Katie grabbed Mickie and has her in a modified under-hook chicken wing. The crowd rallied Mickie who fought back with some punches and hit a neck breaker.

Noble hopped around looking for a tag on the outside of the ring. Both women struggled to the corner. Noble got the hot tag and began uncorking some awesome stuff including a missile drop kick for a two count that was interrupted by Katie Lea. Mickie cut Katie off but Burchill was able to hit a shot to the gut to get back into things. Noble countered a neck breaker attempt with an awesome northern lights suplex into a cross arm breaker. Burchill taps and it’s over.

Winners: Jamie Noble & Mickie James via submission

After the match Noble and James taunted King Regal and Leyla who were observing from the stage.

The Priceless crew is in the bowels of the arena looking for Kane it looks like. They said he was a second generation superstar because his dad was Paul Bearer or something. He aid if they maybe acted as a unit out there, they should be ok. Dibiase said he wanted to make sure they were on the same page. Kane turned to him and said he doesn’t take orders from anyone. He said he was going to massacre Rey Mysterio tonight whether they were on the same page or not. He told them to stay out of his way.

Lance Cade has some new music. And a hell of a cow lick. He put over his win over Shawn Michaels last week. Truth be told, in the last 3 months, he learned more from Chris Jericho than he learned from HBK in 10 years. He said his proof of that was last year. Jericho was a better teacher, influence and better person… period. He said as far as tonight goes, he could care less who his partner is going to be. He was either going to lose to him like last week or lose like he’s going to this Sunday. He said when No Mercy was over, it’d be Chris Jericho who was still World Heavyweight Champion.

Rey Mysterio, Evan Bourne, CM Punk & Kofi Kingston v. Cody Rhodes, Manu, Ted Dibiase & Kane

Manu started with Bourne and Bourne’s using Mysterio as an axebefore being catapulted over the top rope. The tag champs are over the top rope and getting hit with planchas. Mysterio’s on Kane with a senton… everyone’s flying…. commercial break go!

****Commercial****

We came back to Cody controlling Evan Bourne in the middle of the ring with a chicken wing..Manu tagged in and his pony tail is off so you know it’s business. He drops Bourne on his head for a two count before punching him in the face for a little while. While Bourne was able to get a tag, Rhodes cut off Punk rather quickly and tied him up into knots on the mat.

After the leg lock sequence, Kane tagged in and just began stomping on Kane because that’s what he does. He choked Punk in the corner while looking at Mysterio the whole time. The heels are clicking on all cylinders as Ted Dibiase tagged in and let Kane upper cut Punk in the back of the dome before working that leg again. Punk was worked to the corner and tried to fight out but got cut off. Rhodes tagged in and after a double team suplex, got a two count.

Rhodes stayed on the leg stomping and tearing away at it before tagging in Dibiase who came sailing off the top rope with an axe handle. Manu wants him some and tags in and drops a knee on the, uh, knee…. Manu put on a twisting leg lock on Punk who tried to get a roll up but Manu managed to quickly escape and envelop him with a big forearm. Rhodes is in and he and Cody slug it out a bit before Kane’s coming in.

Rhodes held the leg down so Kane could stomp on it and Kane, yet again, is jaw jacking with Mysterio. The lapse in attention cost him as the former world champ was able to hit an enzeguiri and almost get to the corner except Kane PULVARIZED Mysterio with a big boot. Rhodes tagged in and missed an elbow drop allowing Kofi Kingston to come in and clean house on the heels.

Kofi hit a big boom boom leg drop for a two count but Manu broke it up. Bourne took out Manu while Kane tagged in and looked for a choke slam on Kofi. Rey saved the day with a drop kick before taking Dibiase over the top rope with a head scissors. Kingston leapt at Kane in the corner who caught him in a HUGE FREAKING HUGE clothesline for the win.

Winners: Kane, Manu, Cody Rhodes & Ted Dibiase via pin fall

Rey looks a little shocked. Kane’s just laughing.

Raw GM Mike Adamle is in the ring. He said Kane made a request and since he won, he’d honor it. He said if Kane won this Sunday, Rey Mysterio would remove his mask in the middle of the ring. Then Randy Orton’s music hit.

Adamle asked him if he could help him. Orton wanted to know if he had his cell phone on him. He was assuming he had to call Shane McMahon and make sure it was ok. Wants to know if he shines his shoes and picks up his dry cleaning. Orton didn’t appreciate his decision not to re-suspend CM Punk last week and he needs to do it right now. If he wasn’t happy, Mike wouldn’t be, either. Mike may run things on Raw, but when he was healthy, he would own Raw. When he was back he’d need Orton on his side more than he needed Shane McMahon. JBL’s music hit and he came out.

He’s in a bad mood because he lost money on the stock market tonight. He said he was JBL and his wife is powerful… uh, yeah. He said he’d defeat Batista next week and would be the world champion shortly. He said next week, Orton would be talking about the past. He called Orton a one armed gimp living in the past. He wanted Adamle to make sure bozo the one armed clown never got a shot at the title. Batista’s music hit and he pops up behind him and JBL knows what’s coming. Batista hit a big spear and looked down a JBL with the mic. He said he knew JBL had a bad week, but at No Mercy, it’d get a lot worse.

Santino is in the back giving his number out on the phone. Beth is there and glaring at him wondering who he was talking to. Some sick kid named Frankie he promised to win his match for tonight. He told her to forget about Frankie as it was her time tonight. She doesn’t think it’s a good idea right now. She couldn’t have him screwing it up for her this week. He said there was a reason she didn’t have a Fabulous Moolah-meter… said it must be a female problem…

Candice Michelle & Kelly Kelly v. Beth Phoenix & Jillian Hall

Candice opened up with some big strikes to start things off before tagging in Kelly who grabbed an arm wringer and tagged Candice right back in for a axe handle off the top rope. Beth overpowered Candice though and tagged in Jillian who immediately went after her with strikes to the face. Candice fought out of the corner and hit a side Russian leg sweep for a quick one count.

Candice went for a head scissors but was planted with a face buster before Jillian stepped on her face. Beth tagged in and delivered a kick to the mid section before nailing a pair of back breakers for a two count. Jillian tagged in and slammed Candice’s face off the mat a few times before slapping on a rear chin lock. Jillian grabbed a surf board before Jillian slammed her head into the canvas yet again.

She whipped Candice to the corner only to eat some knees on the hand spring elbow attempt. Candice hit a heel kick and made the hot tag to Kelly who hit some forearms on Beth. She hit a nice head scissors move before flipping out of a caught kick only to get clocked with a clothesline for a cover attempt that was broken up by Candice.

Jillian dragged Candice out of the ring. Kelly went for a roll up but Beth rolled with the momentum and hit her tiger clutch face buster for the win.

Winners: Jillian Hall & Beth Phoenix via pin fall

Deuce v. The Great Charlie

Runjin Singh is even here…

Haas is having another identity crisis. He cuts the promo of the year. Singh says ‘behold his awesome power’. Some more non sense and Singh says ‘when prepared correctly, curry is both nutritious and delicious’.

He wants Deuce to hit the ropes and he chopped him in the head. Deuce hit a kick to the gut only for Haas to kill him with a head butt. He went for the Charlie bomb, but Deuce hit a drop kick. Deuce hit a kick to the gut and a face buster before he got a big boot in the grill. Haas fired up and went to the top rope and hit a flying lariat for the win. The whig is back on and he’s screaming some more.

Winner: Charlie Haas via pin fall

Now the real Khali is here and Haas looks scared or really excited. Singh is making the introduction. The Great Charlie and the Great Khali. They’re ‘aaaah-ing’ each other. Khali is struggling not to laugh and instead chops Haas in the head and aaaaaahhhhhs us all.

World Heavyweight Champion Chris Jericho came down to the ring with Lance Cade and said he was insulted when people began wishing him luck in his match. He was better than HBK. Jericho showed everyone how he was going to smash Michaels face with the ladder as Cade demonstrated it all for us. He declared he’d beat him unconscious and he’d slam the ladder on his neck. He said he was the best in the world and when you were that good, you didn’t need luck.

Chris Jericho & Lance Cade v. Shawn Michaels & Triple H

Triple H quickly flattened Jericho only to go for the high knee and get caught nearly in the Walls of Jericho. Lance Cade got the tag and exploded into the ring at Triple H with strikes but was quickly cut down with right hands.

HBK tagged in and he nailed Cade with a clothesline before tackling Chris Jericho and chasing him around the ring side area. Cade caught him with a big boot on his way into the ring before tagging in the champion who quickly hammered away on HBK’s head. Jericho nailed some shoulder thrusts in the corner before tagging in Lance Cade who hit a shot to the gut.

Jericho tagged right back in and hit a snap mare and cinched in a modified sleeper hold as the crowd attempted to rally Michaels. Michaels broke the hold and hit a flying forearm and the two are left flailing on the mat. HBK made it to the corner and here comes the WWE Champion.

Triple H hit the high knee and the face buster before dispatching of Chris Jericho on the ring apron. He hit a big clothesline and then dumped Cade to the mat with a big spine buster. Triple H went for the pedigree but instead got nailed with a Code Breaker. Cade hit a huge lariat on Michaels as he and Cade hammered away on Michaels in the mat. The Ref calls for the bell and it’s a DQ.

Winners: Triple H & Shawn Michaels via DQ

The two continued the assault before getting a ladder out. Jericho was in the ring with the ladder and then noticed Triple H with the sledge hammer. Jericho took off and Cade got nailed. Michaels lined Cade up and nailed him with sweet chin music before Triple H capped it off with a pedigree.

HBK and Jericho stared each other down before Michaels scaled the ladder and delivered the big flying body splash onto Jericho.

After the match, Layla comes out and she has a British accent. She says that last week was difficult and a hard decision. She says that she is sorry that it took so long to get rid of him. She was not going to have Noble take her to the Waffle House. She found a man who is worthy of her and it is William Regal. Regal comes out and says that it was not Noble that she wanted, it was nobility.

Mike Adamle is with Lance Cade and Batista interrupts and he wants to know if he is the number one contender. Cade asks Batista why he should think he is the number one contender. Batista grabs Cade by his shirt and asks him when he asked for Cade’s opinion. Batista leaves the office and Cade looks like he might need a change of pants. We go to commercial.

Chris Jericho and Lance Cade are walking and they are stopped by Dolph Diggler. Jericho refuses to shake his hand but Cade does. We go to commercial.

We are back with more fun factoids about the military tours.

Chris Jericho comes out with Lance Cade and Jericho gingerly enters the ring and he favors his right arm. Jericho has a mic and he tells everyone that he wanted to thank Mike Adamle for respecting his opinion as champion to figure out who will be the number one contender for his title. Jericho says that there has been a lot of talk. Should it be Bradshaw or Batista? Jericho says that neither man are worthy of a shot at his title. Jericho wants Bradshaw and Batista should meet at No Mercy to see who is the number one contender and then Jericho will wrestle the winner. Jericho says that is not a problem because he wrestled twice at Unforgiven. Jericho says that he is the best in the world and he deserves the title. Jericho says that he hopes Adamle accepts this proposition.

Mike Adamle comes out and he says that is more than fair. Bradshaw will face Batista and the winner will be the new number one contender. Mike says that he does not want to have challengers fight twice on the same night because he has to deal with Shane and Stephanie McMahon. Adamle says that Bradshaw and Batista will face the winner at a later date. Mike says that he heard of an idea that he could not ignore. Mike brings out Jericho’s opponent at No Mercy. Shawn Michaels comes out and he says that he knows what Chris is thinking. They have fought in a regular match and an unsanctioned match. Is there a way to top themselves? Is there a match that is not only thrilling and exhilarating that will allow him to permanently disfigure Chris in ways that he could not imagine. Shawn says that there is a match that some say he put on the map. A match that he revolutionized. It is a match that will allow him to beat Jericho for the title at No Mercy. They will meet in a… HBK asks for some help and two people bring out a big ladder. Shawn climbs the ladder and announces a ladder match for No Mercy.

    End of show…

    Report sent in by Mike

Jamie Noble and William Regal started the show off. They had a rather back in forth match. Noble scored the victory after a crossbody from the top rope.

Hacksaw came out to a huge pop like always. Snitsky blindsided him and then the match started. Hacksaw kicked his ass pretty good, even hitting the three point stance, surprisingly. But Snitsky got a measly boot (his only move of the match) on Hacksaw and the match was over.

Santino Marella retained his title against Charlie (Haas) Marella. Santino actually showed a tad bit of wrestling skill, much to my surprise. Santino won with a basic pin.

Then I got to see the “All American American” Jack Swagger. And I have to say, the kid sucks pretty bad. But he has a hell of a personality. He was doing some breakdancing after giving D’Lo a hiptoss or an arm drag. However, our undefeated Rookie, LOST to D’Lo Brown after the Low Down.

Then, we got the Women’s Title match. Mickie’s ass was looking luscious. Yeah, I said it. These two had probably the match of the night. Seriously. Well…actual wrestling wise. Beth would use the Steamboat Chickenwing and convert it into a facebuster for the win.

After intermission, we got Kane vs Mysterio. It was announced earlier that fans could vote with their phones for the stipulation. No Disqualification won 78% of the vote. Upon Mysterio’s arrival, he was doing his interaction with the crowd and some guy decided to pour his beer all over Mysterio. And four security guys proceeded to launching the guy from his seat to the entrance area. After he was reprimanded, we had the match. Kane basically dominated Rey for all of the match. Rey pulled the cheesiest finish ever. He won with the 6-1-9, followed by the splash from the top rope. Meh.

Then we got a rematch from RAW, as Priceless and Manu took on Kingston and Cryme Tyme. This match had the biggest crowd reaction, interaction, pops, all of that. Nothing special in the ring. Cryme Tyme had the momentum, then Manu hit JTG with a superkick and Cody scored the win after his botched DDT. Just poorly executed, as usual.

For the main event, we got Jericho vs Batista vs JBL. JBL and Jericho did the whole 2 on 1 scenario for most of the match until Jericho hit JBL with an enzugiri. Jericho would get Batista in the Walls of the Jericho, but JBL delivered the boot to break the hold. Batista would regain control of the match, hitting a powerslam on Jericho and a spinebuster on JBL. JBL would then get a Batista Bomb. Batista went to give one to Jericho, but Lance Cade distracted him. Jericho pinned JBL to retain the title.

WWE House Show Results from Monroe, Louisiana 9/13/08

Report sent in by Trae Wisecarver

I went to the Smackdown/ECW house show in Monroe last night. All in all it
was a fun show. While we were waiting for the doors to open, my friend
spotted former TNA wrestler and WWE developmental talent Cassidy Riley at
the box office (he’s from Monroe and lives nearby). After we argued for a
few minutes over whether or not it was him and whether or not to approach
him, my wife went over to him and confirmed it was indeed Cassidy Riley, and
he came over and signed autographs and took pictures with us. Nice guy.

Justin Roberts opened the show and did the whole “text your vote for the
stipulation” thing for the ECW Title match later on. The “choices” were 2/3
Falls, Falls Count Anywhere, and No DQ.

    1. Evan Bourne beat Chavo Guerrero Jr. (w/ Bam Neely) (9:48) with a cradle.
Chavo attacked Bourne after the match and then yelled at Neely for not
helping him. Neely got in the ring and held Bourne up for Chavo to hit him,
but at the last second Neely clotheslined Chavo and left, then Bourne hit
the Shooting Star Press on Chavo.

Eve Torres was up in the cheap seats with some fans. She told a family they
would get front row seats if the kid could answer a trivia question. The
question was “Which superstar is the current United States Champion?” The
    kid correctly answered “Shelton Benjamin.”

    2. Jeff Hardy beat Vladimir Kozlov (5:57) with the Swanton bomb. Kozlov cut
a promo before the match about wanting competition. The crowd gave him the
“WHAT?!” treatment. Jeff was over huge.

Eve had made her way to ringside and brought some kid in to be the guest
bell ringer for the next match.

    3. WWE Divas Champion Michelle McCool beat Maryse (w/ Victoria) (8:37) with
a double-underhook face plant that Wikipedia says is called the Wings of
Love. The match was what you’d expect. Towards the end Victoria tried to
interfere, but Eve took her down to even the score. Maryse took down Eve,
then Michelle hit her with the finish.

    4. WWE United States Champion Shelton Benjamin beat Jimmy Wang Yang (15:02)
with the Pay Dirt. They had a pretty good match and worked the crowd into
it, which is the important thing. At one point late in the match, the
referee caught Shelton trying to take off the turnbuckle pad. While the ref
was fixing it, Yang caught him with an inside cradle for a phantom three
count. Of course, by the time the ref turned around and counted, Shelton
kicked out at 2. Finish was Yang missing the moonsault and Shelton hitting
    him with the Paydirt.

    5. Finlay (w/ Hornswoggle) beat Mike Knox (12:25) with a shillelagh (thank
God for spell check) shot. They had the usual antics with Hornswoggle. After
the match, they brought about 5 kids and a soldier in the ring to play Chase
the Midget… or something. Intermission followed.

    6. WWE Tag Team Champions Curt Hawkins & Zach Ryder defeated Jesse & Festus,
John Morrison & The Miz, and Carlito & Primo Colon (15:54) when Hawkins
pinned Festus with a school boy. When the bell rang at the start, Festus
went crazy and chased the heels all around the ring and up the aisle and
back. It was a fun match. Mizorrison are the best thing to happen to tag
team wrestling in WWE in ages, and they were pretty popular with the women
in the crowd. Primo Colon was very impressive.

Teddy Long came out to announce the “winner” of the text message “vote.” It
    was a No DQ Match.

    7. ECW Champion Matt Hardy beat Mark Henry (w/ Tony Atlas) (11:34) with the
Twist of Fate. As is the case every time they come to Monroe, Matt got the
biggest pop of the night (and this was a show that included Triple H and The
Undertaker). Before the match got started, Teddy told Tony Atlas that if he
touched Matt, Henry would automatically lose. The match was what you’d
expect. They used a trash can, a chair, and the ring steps. Matt won with
    the Twist of Fate.

MVP came out for the main event. He cut a promo on Karl Malone, who was in
    the front row.

    8. Triple H & The Undertaker defeated Great Khali & MVP (22:00) when Triple
H pinned Khali with the Pedigree. This was my first time seeing Triple H
and Undertaker live, and it was a very cool experience. The match was
pretty long, but actually wasn’t bad (then again, everything seems better
live). The bad guys got heat on Taker forever, but he finally made the hot
tag to Triple H. The end came when Undertaker chokeslammed MVP at the same
time Triple H hit the Pedigree on Khali and got the pin.

The show ended up going about 3 hours, 10 minutes total. It was the best
WWE show I’ve been to, but it wasn’t as good as the TNA show in the same
    building 2 months ago.

    5. Carlito and Primo Colon beat Zach Ryder and Curt Hawkins in a non-title match. Carlito worked the majority of the match.

    6. Jeff Hardy beat MVP and Brian Kendrick and Shelton Benjamin in a fatal Four Way to earn a shot against the WWE Championship at No Mercy. Kendrick stayed on the outside most of the match and drew lots of heat. Hardy continued to get thrown out of the ring repeatedly. MVP vs. Shelton most of the match. Jeff Hardy regains strength and hits a Swanton Bomb on Kendrick and Shelton. He gets the win via pinfall.

    ECW on Sci-Fi
    Pittsburgh, PA
    September 2nd 2008
Commentators: Todd Grisham & Matt Striker
    Report by: David Stephens of
    WrestleView.com

It’s time for ECW and this week we are kicking the show off with “The Dirt Sheet”!

John Morrison and Miz are putting over the fact that Miz is in the ECW Scramble in his home town of Cleveland, Ohio and has a chance to win the ECW Title. Their first guest is the ECW Champion Mark Henry. Tony Atlas accompanies him to the ring. Next up, Chavo is introduced and instead of his theme playing, it is a track of Miz & Morrison scatting out Chavo’s theme. Even Mark Henry is laughing. Finlay apparently isn’t going to able to make it, so luckily they have Finlay’s brothers live via satellite!

This turns out to be a pre-taped Miz & Morrison segment dressed in Irish garb. Well Finlay apparently is in the building and decides to make his way out to the ring. Finlay has a smile on his face so it doesn’t seem that the segment bothered him too much, he even greets Miz & Morrison as his brothers. Hornswoggle says hello to his cousins via a swift kick to the calf. Matt Hardy makes his way down to the ring, and once again gets a huge ovation. This guy is really over.

They do the type of smack talk you would have expected, nothing too spectacular. Next thing you know Morrison starts attacking Hardy and everyone else joins in. For some reason Bourne and Dreamer come down to make the save. Kind of a dull segment, but maybe it shall improve. This is interesting considering the fact that ECW was taped before RAW’s Scramble match last night.

    ****Commercial****

When we come back, the whole group is fighting backstage. Theodore Long comes out to break it up. He declares that tonight there will be an 8 man tag team match: Chavo, Miz, Morrison & Henry v. Dreamer, Bourne, Finlay & Hardy.

    Super Crazy v. Gavin Spears

Spears ties up Crazy in an arm bar and Super reverses it into a leg hold via a couple of spins. Crazy hits an arm drag and then jumps up for some punches in the corner. Gavin throws Crazy down to the mat and goes for a pin, but no three count. The two exchange a couple of punches and then Spears hits a jumping knee on Crazy but the pin attempt isn’t any good, though he does yell for the ref to count faster. Super Crazy gets locked into a variation of the crossface in the middle of the ring. Gavin Spears hits a sunset flip, but Crazy rolls out of it and hits a dropkick. Crazy whips him into the ropes and hits two more dropkicks followed up by a spinning heel kick. Crazy is sent to the apron and then hits a beautiful moonsault by springing off the second rope. 1..2…3.

    Winner via Moonsault: Super Crazy

    ****Commercial****

    Ricky Ortiz v. Ryan Braddock

Braddock apparently had a match against the Big Show on Smackdown sometime, so I guess I won’t chalk him up as some random guy. Ortiz locks in an arm bar but gets shoulder blocked to the ground. Ortiz whips Ryan into the ropes and hits a nice shoulder block of his own. Ortiz hits a suplex and then whips Braddock into the corner. Ryan goes to the second rope and somehow drives him down to the mat with his knee into the back of Ortiz’s head. That was kind of interesting. Ortiz is caught up in a side headlock and then gets chucked down to the mat when he tries to get out. Braddock locks him up in another head lock.

Ortiz finally gets out and slams Braddock’s head into the top turnbuckle. Ricky hits a nice dropkick and then slams him down to the mat. He hits his flying shoulder tackle from the second rope and then hits the “Big O” for the win.

Winner via Big O: Ricky Ortiz

    ****Commercial****

Video airs of Josh Mattews interviewing Mr. Kennedy and Mickie James at the Republican National Convention. Todd Grisham puts over Smackdown! Your Vote, and Matt Striker reminds us to vote Republican.

Matt Hardy makes entrance down to the ring.

    ****Commercial****

Miz, Morrison, Henry & Chavo v. Dreamer, Bourne, Hardy & Finlay

Morrison and Hardy start things off. Hardy hits a couple of quick shots and then tags in Dreamer who hits a suplex and then tags in Finlay. The two of them are slugging it out and Chavo gets the tag. Miz chokes up Finlay while the ref isn’t looking, then Chavo runs back over only to be hit with an Atomic Drop and clothesline. Finlay is thrown to the outside but blocks Chavo’s baseball slide by pulling out the apron to trap him in it. Finlay starts pounding on Chavo and when Bam comes over to make the save Hornswoggle leaps off the apron to take him out!

    ****Commercial****

As we come back Finlay is holding Chavo and Bourne springboards over the ropes to take him out. Chavo whips Bourne into the ropes and then hits a backbreaker on the high flyer. Miz gets in the tag but Bourne floors him. Miz is on his back and starts to move his head up to see where Bourne is at and Evan kicks him in the face and hits a standing moonsault! That was actually pretty amusing. Bourne goes for the pin but only gets a 1 count. Bourne starts to climb up the ropes but Morrison distracts him enough for Miz to throw him to the ground.

Henry gets in the tag and things don’t look good for Bourne who Henry throws around like a rag doll before tagging back in Miz. Bourne is locked in a side headlock and then is speared into the corner. Chavo gets the tag and hits a side slam. Bourne kicks out of the pin attempt and then Chavo kicks him in the side before going for another pin attempt. Not even close. Bourne is still being held up and Morrison gets the tag. There is no finesse as Bourne is just being punched and stomped on. Bourne is thrown out to the floor which allows Neely and Miz to get in some cheap shots. Finlay comes over to break it up. Bourne is thrown back into the ring and then locked up in a side head lock by Morrison. Bourne is able to get out and hit a hurricarana but Morrison keeps him from making the tag. Chavo gets the tag and starts to work on Bourne. Evan finally breaks free and tags in Dreamer. Tommy hits a dropkick and then a bulldog on Chavo but the three count fails. Chavo is able to duck away and tag in Mark Henry!

Henry comes in and backs Dreamer into a corner. Tommy is kicked multiple times and then repeatedly thrown to the mat. Henry tags Chavo back in. Chavo locks a side headlock on Dreamer but Tommy breaks free. Chavo tries to block the tag but Dreamer tags in Hardy! Matt slams Chavo down to the mat then hits his EPIC elbow from the second rope. Matt hits a side-effect and goes for the cover but Chavo manages to kick out. Henry is tagged in and he scoop slams Matt in the middle of the ring. Matt is able to roll away from a Henry splash which leaves Mark exposed on his back in the middle of the ring. Hardy tags in Bourne and Bourne heads for the top rope! Evan Bourne hits a Shooting Star Press on Mark Henry!

Bourne jumps up and kicks Miz who was coming in for the save. Evan tags in Dreamer who also goes to the top rope and hits a Frog Splash! Dreamer jumps up and takes out Morrison who was coming in for the save! Next Finlay is tagged in and he hits his signature running butt plant and then hits Chavo as he was coming in for the save! Matt Hardy gets the tag and takes out Tony Atlas. He hits the Twist of Fate and the match is over!

Winners via Twist of Fate: Matt Hardy, Evan Bourne, Tommy Dreamer & Finlay

    End of show…
