WWE RAW
September 29, 2008
Minneapolis, MN
The opening pyro hit and we’re ready to go. Michael Cole & Jerry Lawler welcomed us to the show and we’re ready to go. They put over the network television debut of Wrestlemania XXIV on MyNetwork TV.
Batista’s music hit and he came out to the ring.
Batista v. Santino Marella
Santino popped up on the ring and put over the honk-o-meter for us all to view. He then whipped out a brain barometer. He said the avg. human has six trillion brain cells. Santino has 10 trillion. Batista on the other hand, only has 12. Batista’s laughing because honestly, this is pretty hilarious. He’s leaving Batista in worse shape than the US economy.
Batista clocked Santino with a huge lariat before nailing him with multiple shoulder thrusts in the corner. He followed it up with a big whip followed by a clothesline before nailing a spine buster. One big Batista Bomb later, that’s all she wrote.
Winner: Batista via pin fall
After the match, Beth got on the ring apron and was talking trash to Batista. As he smiled at her, JBL showed up from behind and leveled Batista with a clothesline from hell. Batista’s selling it like he’s a dead deer. Twitch and all.
Todd Grisham is in the back with Shawn Michaels. He said HBK would team with a mystery partner. HBK said ten years ago when he trained Cade he knew he was good but what happened last week wouldn’t ever happen again. HBK put over the ladder match at No Mercy before Grisham asked him who his partner would be. HBK said it wouldn’t be Batista… he teased it being Hogan and Austin and even Bret Hart. He said he needed to find a partner who actually liked him.

Miz slapped on a cravat. JTG fought out and caught a roll up but Miz kicked out and went back on the advantage with a lariat. We’re back in the cravat before JTG blocked a lariat and a kick before JTG hit a springboard leg drop. JTG hit a wheel kick before hitting a second rope senton for a two count.
He gathered Miz before eating a punch to the grill. JTG dodged an upper cut and flat backed Miz with a punch. He was distracted by the shenanigans from Shaad and Morrison on the outside just long enough for Miz to hit the kick, knee, neck breaker ‘reality check’ combo for the win.
Winner: The Miz via pin fall
Jamie Noble is approaching Jillian about something. She sang, then Dolph Ziggler showed up. He’s got a mean hand shake.

King William Regal and Leyla are watching from a throne on the stage.
Paul Burchill & Katie Lea v. Jamie Noble & Mickie James
Burchill and Noble started things off. Burchill put a big beat down on Noble with punches and knees. Noble fought back briefly only to be nailed into the corner. Mickie cut Katie off but Burchill was able to hit a shot to the gut to get back into things. Noble countered a neck breaker attempt with an awesome northern lights suplex into a cross arm breaker. Burchill taps and it’s over.
Winners: Jamie Noble & Mickie James via submission
After the match Noble and James taunted King Regal and Leyla who were observing from the stage.

The Priceless crew is in the bowels of the arena looking for Kane it looks like. They said he was a second generation superstar because his dad was Paul Bearer or something. He aid if they maybe acted as a unit out there, they should be ok. Dibiase said he wanted to make sure they were on the same page. Kane turned to him and said he doesn’t take orders from anyone. He said he was going to massacre Rey Mysterio tonight whether they were on the same page or not. He told them to stay out of his way.
Lance Cade has some new music. And a hell of a cow lick. He put over his win over Shawn Michaels last week. Truth be told, in the last 3 months, he learned more from Chris Jericho than he learned from HBK in 10 years. He said his proof of that was last year. Jericho was a better teacher, influence and better person… period. He said as far as tonight goes, he could care less who his partner is going to be. He was either going to lose to him like last week or lose like he’s going to this Sunday. He said when No Mercy was over, it’d be Chris Jericho who was still World Heavyweight Champion.

Rey Mysterio, Evan Bourne, CM Punk & Kofi Kingston v. Cody Rhodes, Manu, Ted Dibiase & Kane
Manu started with Bourne and Bourne’s using Mysterio as an axebefore being catapulted over the top rope. The tag champs are over the top rope and getting hit with planchas. Mysterio’s on Kane with a senton… everyone’s flying…. commercial break go!
****Commercial****
We came back to Cody controlling Evan Bourne in the middle of the ring with a chicken wing..Manu tagged in and his pony tail is off so you know it’s business. He drops Bourne on his head for a two count before punching him in the face for a little while. While Bourne was able to get a tag, Rhodes cut off Punk rather quickly and tied him up into knots on the mat.
After the leg lock sequence, Kane tagged in and just began stomping on Kane because that’s what he does. He choked Punk in the corner while looking at Mysterio the whole time. The heels are clicking on all cylinders as Ted Dibiase tagged in and let Kane upper cut Punk in the back of the dome before working that leg again. Punk was worked to the corner and tried to fight out but got cut off. Rhodes tagged in and after a double team suplex, got a two count.
Rhodes stayed on the leg stomping and tearing away at it before tagging in Dibiase who came sailing off the top rope with an axe handle. Manu wants him some and tags in and drops a knee on the, uh, knee…. Manu put on a twisting leg lock on Punk who tried to get a roll up but Manu managed to quickly escape and envelop him with a big forearm. Rhodes is in and he and Cody slug it out a bit before Kane’s coming in.
Rhodes held the leg down so Kane could stomp on it and Kane, yet again, is jaw jacking with Mysterio. The lapse in attention cost him as the former world champ was able to hit an enzeguiri and almost get to the corner except Kane PULVARIZED Mysterio with a big boot. Rhodes tagged in and missed an elbow drop allowing Kofi Kingston to come in and clean house on the heels.
Kofi hit a big boom boom leg drop for a two count but Manu broke it up. Bourne took out Manu while Kane tagged in and looked for a choke slam on Kofi. Rey saved the day with a drop kick before taking Dibiase over the top rope with a head scissors. Kingston leapt at Kane in the corner who caught him in a HUGE FREAKING HUGE clothesline for the win.
Winners: Kane, Manu, Cody Rhodes & Ted Dibiase via pin fall
Rey looks a little shocked. Kane’s just laughing.

Raw GM Mike Adamle is in the ring. He said Kane made a request and since he won, he’d honor it. He said if Kane won this Sunday, Rey Mysterio would remove his mask in the middle of the ring. Then Randy Orton’s music hit.
Adamle asked him if he could help him. Orton wanted to know if he had his cell phone on him. He was assuming he had to call Shane McMahon and make sure it was ok. Wants to know if he shines his shoes and picks up his dry cleaning. Orton didn’t appreciate his decision not to re-suspend CM Punk last week and he needs to do it right now. If he wasn’t happy, Mike wouldn’t be, either. Mike may run things on Raw, but when he was healthy, he would own Raw. When he was back he’d need Orton on his side more than he needed Shane McMahon. JBL’s music hit and he came out.
He’s in a bad mood because he lost money on the stock market tonight. He said he was JBL and his wife is powerful… uh, yeah. He said he’d defeat Batista next week and would be the world champion shortly. He said next week, Orton would be talking about the past. He called Orton a one armed gimp living in the past. He wanted Adamle to make sure bozo the one armed clown never got a shot at the title. Batista’s music hit and he pops up behind him and JBL knows what’s coming. Batista hit a big spear and looked down a JBL with the mic. He said he knew JBL had a bad week, but at No Mercy, it’d get a lot worse.
Santino is in the back giving his number out on the phone. Beth is there and glaring at him wondering who he was talking to. Some sick kid named Frankie he promised to win his match for tonight. He told her to forget about Frankie as it was her time tonight. She doesn’t think it’s a good idea right now. She couldn’t have him screwing it up for her this week. He said there was a reason she didn’t have a Fabulous Moolah-meter… said it must be a female problem…

She hit a nice head scissors move before flipping out of a caught kick only to get clocked with a clothesline for a cover attempt that was broken up by Candice.
Jillian dragged Candice out of the ring. Kelly went for a roll up but Beth rolled with the momentum and hit her tiger clutch face buster for the win.

After last night’s ScrambleMania pay per view, otherwise known as Unforgiven, do we get to see a new champion for the Raw brand or did CM Punk get to retain his title. In case you missed the pay per view, CM Punk did not even get a chance to defend his title because of what Randy Orton did to him. Punk was beaten up so bad that he could not even wrestle. However, one man who got beaten to the point where he could not defend himself was able to take Punk’s place and he is your new World Champion. Shawn Michaels defeated Chris Jericho, but Jericho was able to accept General Manager Adamle’s offer to join the Raw Scramble match. We also saw Ted DiBiase and Cody Rhodes retain the tag titles against Cryme Tyme. We got to see a new member of the Raw roster when Manu made his debut to help Rhodes and DiBiase. What is next for Santino Marella and Beth Phoenix after what Randy Orton said to them last week? Will Kofi Kingston get any revenge on Rhodes, Orton, DiBiase, or Manu for their attack on him when Kingston came to Punk’s aid? What fun things will The Adamle come up with tonight? What will the new champion say? What will the four men who could not win the title do on tonight’s show. Will Bradshaw claim that he is the champion because the Jets and Giants won this weekend?

Lillian Garcia is in the ring and she introduces the new World Champion Chris Jericho. Chris tells everyone who he is and he points out that he is the new World Champion in case you missed Lillian Garcia’s announcement. Jericho is going to give everyone who did not see the pay per view an update on what happened. Last night, he faced the wrath of a self righteous hypocrite, Shawn Michaels. Shawn talks about turning the other cheek and being a good person; but Chris wants to show us what Shawn did last night. Chris takes off his jacket, shirt, and tie and he reveals the marks on his back. The crowd applauds the bruises while Chris talks about them. He asks what kind of man would do this to another human being. What kind of person would disfigure another man? That man is Shawn Michaels and he is a hypocrite. Shawn whipped him like a dog. The tip of his belt discolored his back and the fans savored every minute of it. When all of the bravado goes down, what did Shawn Michaels win? He won nothing. Shawn might have won his match. Now he is home celebrating with his family. Chris says that the match was unsanctioned and never existed so Shawn accomplished nothing. Chris points out that he has the title belt.
Chris says that six months ago, he said that good things happen to good people. Chris says that he is a good person. He is a righteous man and a good man. He does what he says and now he is the champion. After he received the brutal beating that he did not deserve last night, he was told by Mike Adamle that Randy Orton kicked CM Punk in the head and was out of the Scramble. That is how he is the new champion. Not only did he beat Steve Austin and The Rock to become the first Undisputed Champion. Last night, he beat Kane, Rey Mysterio, Batista, and Bradshaw to win the title. Chris points out that Batista came close to winning. Now everyone must respect how good Chris Jericho is. Chris says that he is not Shawn Michaels. He is better because he is the new World Champion.
Mike Adamle comes out and he congratulates Chris for his victory. Adamle says that CM Punk suffered a concussion last night and was not medically cleared to wrestle last night. Mike says that he was looking for a championship caliber replacement and Chris filled in that role. Adamle reminds everyone that Punk lost without being pinned. Punk is not here tonight. Next week he will get a chance to regain his title. Punk will Jericho for the title. The match will be in a steel cage.
Jericho says that he is not worried because he beat Punk in his home town, so he can beat him next week. Chris says that he is sick of dealing with the hypocrites so he is going to get out of here. Adamle says that he is not done. He needs a main event tonight. After last night, why not have Chris Jericho face Batista.

Orton has lulled the sound truck to sleep and then he says that there is no worse feeling than to be on a global stage with the title in your grasp only to have tragedy keep you from competing. Orton says that he is not talking about CM Punk. Orton says that he is talking about himself. A few months ago, he broke his collarbone against Triple H, unable to retain his title. The difference between CM Punk and himself is that he earned his championship. He won the main event at Wrestlemania. CM Punk got lucky and karma caught up. Last night, he was taken out by a one armed man. Orton says that he did it because he was threatened and he felt concerned for his safety. Punk should not be mad, but he should be happy for having his face kicked in because it kept him from being exposed.
Orton tells Jericho to feel free to thank him any time he wants because if it wasn’t for him, Jericho would not have been in the match, and he would not have been champion. Orton says that he will take back what is his when he is healthy.
Orton is interrupted by Cody Rhodes, Ted DiBiase and Manu who come to the ring. Rhodes asks Orton who took care of Punk last night. He isn’t the only one with a father who is a hall of famer. He says that Orton is no better than any of them. Ted says that Orton did slap Cody in the fact last week. Ted says that what they did to Punk was impressive. Orton slaps DiBiase and then Orton leaves the ring.

WWE Raw 8/11/08
from Richmond, VA
The show opened with a video recap of the John Cena and Batista feud. John Cena’s music played and he came to the ring wearing one of the World Tag Titles for a promo. Meanwhile, Michael Cole and Jerry Lawler introduced the show. Cena ran through his recent storyline with Batista. He said Adamle approached him asked what they could do to hype the match with Batista. He said Adamle threw out a bunch of ideas such as a weigh-in or a broken glass arm wrestling match to build up interest. Cena said there’s no need for hype beyond putting him in the ring with Batista on the spot. Cena looked to the stage and then Batista’s entrance music played and he walked to the ring wearing the other tag title. “You wanted me, here I am,” Batista said. Batista stood by and let Cena do the talking. Cena said they would defending their tag titles on Raw, but would be going head-to-head at SummerSlam. Cena said everyone knows that the match has been six years in the making. Cena said he’s been watching Batista closely for six years. Cena pointed out that Batista was groomed by Ric Flair and Triple H.
He said he never had anything like that, but he worked hard and turned critics into believers. He said every Monday he represents a nation that goes to battle with him. Cena said they would answer the question of which one of them was better when they faced on Sunday. Batista took his turn on the mic. He said he’s been watching Cena closely too. Batista pointed out that they’ve both won a Royal Rumble, and they’ve both won a main event at WrestleMania. “I’ve seen you get standing ovations and I’ve seen you get booed out of the building,” Batista said. “Through all that, you never changed who you are and I respect that.” “Personally, I wouldn’t be caught dead doing some of the things you do,” continued Batista. He mocked one of Cena’s mannerisms. Batista said he also understands why fans over the age of 15 want to see him beat Cena senseless. Batista implied that he would win on Sunday. They circled one another and had a staredown. Cena offered his hand. Batista accepted with a handshake and they continued the staredown briefly until Cena left the ring.
Cole said the WWE Mobile question of the night is whether John Cena or Batista is a bigger star.

Beth was going to oblige, but Kofi Kingston and Mickie James ran out for the save. The heels darted to ringside, where Santino issued a singles match challenge. Kofi accepted, but Santino said he was talking to Mickie. He also pointed out that they were in Mickie’s hometown. Backstage, a shot aired of a Ronald Reagan portrait. Mike Adamle told Todd Grisham he wants to take the Ronald Reagan approach to being a general manager by letting the superstars do what they want to do and intervene only when necessary. Kane entered the room. Adamle said they have one match too many at SummerSlam, so he booked a “SummerSlam Spectacular” match between Kane and Chris Jericho. Kane said he would take the match as long as that was all Adamle had in mind. Adamle said it was, then stopped Kane with a “By the way…” He said he wanted Kane to hand over the burlap sack after the match. He explained that children will be going back to school soon and he didn’t want them scaring their classmates by impersonating Kane with the burlap sack. “You are making a huge mistake,” Kane replied.

Cole broke the news regarding Randy Orton being injured in a motorcycle accident. He said Orton was thrown 300 feet off his bike.
JBL made his way to the ring for the special challenge he has for Punk. There was already a table and chairs set up. Punk made his entrance. JBL started to cut a promo, but Punk cut him off by telling him to shut up. He said he’s been listening to the same arguments ever since he won the title. “I’m going to say it one more time and I’m going to say it clear, the World Championship is around my waist because I earned it,” Punk said. He said the crowning achievement of his career will be beating JBL and walking out of SummerSlam with the title. “With all due respect to John Cena and Batista, I will prove that I’m the man,” Punk said. JBL rolled his eyes at the Cena and Batista remark. He noted that he held the World Hvt. Championship longer than both of them. JBL said the fairy tale ends at SummerSlam. “You’ve got talent,” JBL said. “You also have six days left as the World Hvt. Champion because I can beat you at anything I choose to do.” JBL removed his jacket and placed it on the table. He unveiled a bottle of Jack Daniels and challenged him to sit down and have a drink. JBL poured Punk a shot. “Because if you will drink that one drink, I will concede to you that you won this contest,” JBL said. Punk looked at the shot glass and picked it up. “You want me to drink this?” Punk asked. JBL said he wants Punk to show that he’ll do anything to win. JBL said that if Punk isn’t willing to check his morals at the door, then he knows won’t do whatever it takes to win the title at SummerSlam.
Punk said he’s not like JBL. He said he’s willing to do whatever it takes at SummerSlam, but he’s not willing to check his beliefs at the door. “I won’t let some bully shoehorn me into his ideals of a championship persona. So thanks, but no thanks.” Punk put the shot glass down.” JBL said he didn’t realize Punk brought his soapbox. JBL said he’d toast to Punk and to the end that is the footnote that his title reign will be. Punk took the shot glass back and said the champ should be doing the toasting, “Here’s to you, JBL. Sometimes it’s what you don’t do that makes you who you are.” Punk threw the shot in JBL’s eyes and then delivered a high knee in the corner. Punk left the ring as JBL rolled around trying to get the whiskey out of his eyes.

Jericho hit the codebeaker and scored the clean pin.
After the match, Kane continued to clutch his sack. Adamle entered the ring and said, “I know this is very difficult for you, but we need to resolve this and I’m here to help,” Adamle said. He continued by saying that he knows what’s inside the bag and he knows who he is referring to when he asks if “he” is alive or dead. “He is you and the monster is you,” he said. Adamle explained that Kane has tried to live as a normal person. He said Kane proved he could lead a normal life when he declared last week that “he” is dead. “You could lead a normal life by giving me that bag,” Adamle said. “I know what’s inside and I think the people here deserve to know as well… We need to get to the bottom of this and we need to get to the bottom of this right now.” Adamle assured Kane that his life would be much better if he turned over the bag. He recalled Regan telling Mikael Gorbachev to take down that wall. “I’m telling you Kane to hand me that bag.” Kane took the mic and said there is a mask in the bag. He said the man who wore it has been scarred and tortured and damaged beyond all human recognition. “The problem is that it’s not my mask.” Kane opened the bag and pulled out a mask. The live crowd gasped. “It’s Rey Mysterio’s.” Kane handed the mask to Adamle, laughed, and then left the ring.
